The first part is open to candidates divided into the various age categories, and is called International Piano Competition «Città di Gorizia». The second part, open to candidates of all ages, is called «Giuliano Pecar» International Prize for Piano Interpretation. 1. The competition is open to all pianists born after 31st December 1975. Candidates of all nationalities are accepted. Candidates who won the first prize for the same category in past editions of the competition are not allowed to take part. 2. E-mail:info@kclbratuz.org The application form may also be sent via fax or e-mail within the same closing date for applications, and the rest of the required documents can then be sent by regular post. 3. The following documents must be enclosed with the application form: a) A photocopy of an official identification document. b) Curriculum vitae with translation into English. c) Two recent signed photos. d) Receipt of payment of the entrance fee. Candidates will not be admitted to the competition unless payment and documents (a, b, c, d, and e from point 3 of the regulations) have been received. The application fee will not be reimbursed for any reason. 5.Members of the jury who are currently teaching any candidate, or who have taught a candidate at any time during the two years preceding the competition must abstain from the discussion and marking of these candidates. This will be explicitly mentioned in the written memorandum of the competition. At the beginning of the competition, each member of the jury will make a statement concerning his/her personal relations with any of the candidates as regards the afore-mentioned rule. 6. The programme order of the candidates will be in alphabetical order. The resulting calendar of performances will be comunicated to all candidates by the organisation from the 10 th of November. and it will published in the web site www.kclbratuz.org. The candidates can also call the secretary office at +39 0481 531445 from 9:00 to 13:00 AM 7. Before playing, candidates must show documents proving their identity to the competition secretary. 8. All decisions made by the Jury are final. In the case of any dispute about the interpretation of the regulations, a decision will be taken on the basis of the Italian text. The Artistic Director will be responsible for any decisions taken regarding anything not stated in the present regulations, or for any problem relating to the interpretation of the regulations. The Artistic director may, at any time, call for new members to take part in the Jury, or may substitute existing members. 9. All performances are open to the public and must be played from memory. 10. The Jury may interrupt the performances if they exceed the maximum duration time set out in the regulations. 11. The results will be announced by the Jury after private discussion following the end of each category. The Jury may award ex aequo (equal) prizes. 12. Candidates must complete the application form listing their programme. It is possible, however, to modify the programme by informing the competition secretary at least one hour before playing. 13. In the eventuality of radio or television productions, audio or video recordings of the trials or of the prize-winners’ concert, the participating candidates have no right to advance claims or financial requests to the producers or transmitters. 14. Participation implies tacit consent of the above regulations. 10th INTERNATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION «CITTĄ DI GORIZIA» CATEGORY «A» Date of birth from 01/01/2001 onwards. Entrance fee € 45,00 Programme: (max. duration 6 minutes) Compositions of contestant’s choice. CATEGORY «B» Date of birth from 01/01/1998 onwards. Entrance fee € 50,00 Programme: (max. duration 12 minutes) a) Compulsory composition: Robert Schumann or Frèdèric Chopin – any compositions of contestant’s choice; b) Composition of contestant’s choice. CATEGORY «C» Date of birth from 01/01/1995 onwards. Entrance fee € 55,00 Programme: (max. duration 16 minutes) a) Compulsory composition: R.Schumann- any compositions of contestant’s choice; b) First movement of a sonata by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven or Clementi of contestant’s choice ; c) Compositions of contestant’s choice. CATEGORY «D» Date of birth from 01/01/1992 onwards. Entrance fee € 60,00 Programme: (max. duration 25 minutes) a)Compulsary composition’s: F.Chopin – any composition of contestant’s choice. b)First movement of a Sonata by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven or Clementi of contestant’s choice; c) A stude of contestant’s choice; d)Compositions of contestant’s choice. PRIZES: International Piano Competition «Città di Gorizia» CATEGORY «A» 1st absolute prize - € 200,00 - Cup and diploma 2nd prize - Diploma 3rd prize - Diploma CATEGORY «B» 1st absolute prize - € 250,00 - Cup and diploma 2nd prize - Diploma 3rd prize - Diploma CATEGORY «C» 1st absolute prize - € 300,00 - Cup and diploma 2nd prize - Diploma 3rd prize - Diploma CATEGORY «D» 1st absolute prize - € 350,00 - Cup and diploma 2nd prize - Diploma 3rd prize – Diploma «Carlo and Rodolfo Furcht» special prize for the best perfomance of piece by Frèdèric Chopin - € 1.000,00. The award-giving and prize-winners’ concert will be held on 27st of November 2010, at 20.30. The winners must participate without payment. The programme of the final concert will be decided by the Artistic Director.
